Hollywood star retreat up for sale in Northland

One of New Zealand’s most exclusive luxury resorts, Eagles Nest, is up for sale in Russell, Northland.
The resort is rumoured to have hosted a raft of Hollywood stars, including Will Smith, Nicole Kidman, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins.
Eagles Nest contains five luxurious villas perched on a headland overlooking the Bay of Islands.
The resort was the brainchild of American Daniel Biskind and his Australian wife Sandra.
“We built Eagles Nest for us really, its like this is what we want in a holiday and so we were just hoping and praying that the rest of the world would want it as a holiday too,” says Mrs Biskind.
Rahimoana is the jewel in the crown of the resort’s villas; it costs up to $20,000 a night to rent and comes complete with 25 metre lap pool, spa, a Porsche, champagne and a chef.
Mrs Biskind says Hollywood stars stay in the resort because of its mix of luxury and seclusion.
“People come here because they know they’re not going to be hassled by paparazzi; the people in New Zealand are really great with these movie stars,” she says.
The Eagles Nest is on the market, and could be yours if you fancy it…or can afford the price tag.
